For most of my life, one thing has remained constant: people.
I began my career in law enforcement, eventually working in Robbery-Homicide and serving as president of my Police League. Later, my wife and I built several businesses together. I became a P.A.D.I. scuba instructor, trained hundreds of divers, and spent years as a charity auctioneer and emcee.
Different careers. Different people. Different challenges.
But along the way, I learned how to listen. How to communicate. How to read a room. And how to be there for people when things get difficult.
Eventually, I discovered that all of those experiences had been preparing me for something I never expected:
Helping families celebrate the life of someone they love.
I’ve Spent My Life Working With People
Why I Became a Celebrant
After officiating Celebrations of Life for friends and family, I realized something.
I loved hearing the stories.
The funny ones. The touching ones. The stories people hadn't thought about in years.
And I loved watching what happened when those stories were shared. People laughed. They cried. They started telling stories of their own.
That's when I knew this was something I wanted to do.
I don't just want to conduct a ceremony. I want to help a family remember someone they love.
